About Pinchas Polonsky
Dr. Pinchas Polonsky (born 1958, Moscow) is a Russian-Israeli Jewish-religious philosopher, researcher, and educator active among the Russian-speaking Jewish community. He has written original books and a number of translations of works on Judaism.
During his underground activities in Moscow (1977–1987), he taught Judaism and was one of the founders of Machanaim (associations for the spread of Judaism among Soviet Jews). From 1987 he lives in Israel, is an activist in the process of the modernization of Judaism and is a researcher on the topics of the Rabbi A.I.Kook legacy. Polonsky is the author of “Bible Dynamics” Torah commentary, “Gates of Prayer” series of prayer books with commentaries, ” Rabbi A.I.Kook – His Personality and Teaching”, “Two thousand years together. Jewish view on Christianity”, “Relationship Between Ideals and Commandments in Judaism” and some other books and articles.
